Love me some babies
The Duo is now 5 months old and have reached my favorite stage...thus far. They laugh with mouths wide open all the time, roll over, play with their feet, and smile when they wake up from THEIR 12 HOURS OF SLEEP AT NIGHT! Oh yes, that is why this is my favorite stage!!
These pictures were taken by my friend Amanda Holt of Oliver Twist Photography. I could not believe how easy the photo session went and how wonderfully she was able to capture their cuteness. Because let me tell you, getting 2 babies photographed with multiple outfit changes is a challenge. Especially keeping the spit-up and poo off the outfits. But we managed and now I have the picture memories forever.

Menu 09/21/09 week
Sorry about missing last week...my hard drive crashed and I was out of a computer for a while. Thankfully everything was recovered (2 YEARS worth of pictures I had not developed!!) and we're back in the ballgame. So stop right now and back up everything on your computer. You'll thank me later. ;)
On to this week's menu...
A little different than typical because I have lots of different meats, veggies and fruits to choose from. My "shipment" came in from ordering food through Angel Food Ministries - an awesome non-profit that discounts great food to more wholesale prices. So I've got different types of food to work with which will be a challenge. But a cheaper challenge so I'm all over it!
MONDAY - Fish (either Salmon or Tilapia - whichever is on sale), cous cous, green beans
TUESDAY - Tacos in Pasta Shells, cajun black beans, chips & guacamole
WEDNESDAY - BBQ Chicken Packets (chicken, baked beans, corn on the cob all foiled up and baked in individual packets for each family member), dinner rolls
THURSDAY - Easy Pork Chops, apple sweet potato bake, steamed broccoli
FRIDAY - Burgers, potato fries, Brunswick stew (we'll go ahead and grill the turkey dogs for tomorrow night and just reheat so we only have to grill once)
SATURDAY - Grilled turkey sausage dogs, butternut squash, pear walnut squares
SUNDAY - Breakfast Burritos, hashbrowns
If you've got a menu to share, post it in my comments sections or post a link to your blog if it's on there. Happy eating!

Move over, Beckham!...or Pele....or whoever you people are...
I'm in unfamiliar territory.
Put me on a softball field, or even a football field, or up on a stage in front of hundreds of people and I'll feel pretty comfortable (as long as my stage time doesn't include singing of any sort). But place me on a soccer field....ugh...I'm a lost cause.
I did play one year of soccer back in the day. And that was only because the soccer coach was really cute. Somehow I made the team as a 16/17 year old playing for THE FIRST TIME EVER! (goes to show the level of skill on that team!)
I was terrible. I never really enjoyed the sport and my parents wanted to gauge their eyeballs out when watching me play because they didn't understand a lick of it.
Short-lived career to say the least. Especially when compared to my 25 year softball career.
I always vowed to have my mini-me daughters take that softball field like a champ. Own it. Run it. Become it.
Until the husb began his shananigan ranting about "Maybe she should play soccer" or "Soccer is one sport I actually understand" or "I could totally play soccer with my kids" blah blah blah.
Somehow Big Sis overheard these shananigan rantings and hopped on the bandwagon. (It's all a conspiracy against softball. I just know it.)
So here we are. Launching into a soccer career at age 4. (You do remember the ballet debacle last year? Was I hoping for a repeat? Well, no. But I sure as heck wasn't purchasing cleats [see pictures] until we got 3 or 4 practices in and I knew she was sticking with it!)
I'm not gonna know any cool soccer cheers (like I would have on the softball field) and I'm not gonna purchase the coolest soccer gear (as she would have had STATE-O-THE-ART softball attire/gear) and I'll never be her coach (coulda sent her Little League team to the WORLD SERIES had I coached the real sport).
But you can be doggone sure when she scores her first goal, I'm gonna scream at the top of my lungs, "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!" just like they do on the beloved Spanish channel, Univision.
And then I might jump up and down and hit someone. Because that's what crazed soccer fans do, and I'm an all or nothing kind of gal.
It is at that time that I will officially become a soccer mom.
